Philippus and Goodlaxson Blue Corner Battles 105lbs Ammy Title Fight (Video)

Two highly respected and ranked fighters met in the cage last night in Kansa City, Missouri at Harrah's Casino. Sarah Goodlaxson (ranked 8th) and Jessica Philippus (ranked 1st) fought for the Blue Corner Battles 105 amateur championship. Philippus got the W by submitting Goodlaxson out in the second round by choke. This is Philippus' second belt that she has improving her record to 6-1. Congrats to Jessica and congrats to both ladies for an excellent fight.

There may be a lot of MMA fans who won't give this fight footage a glance because of two reasons, It's an amateur bout and it's two women fighting. This fight is just as important as any other, especially to women's MMA and the two brave ladies fighting. No matter what the size or gender of the fighter, no matter what the fighter looks like, and no matter if they are ammy or pro, if you are an MMA enthusiast every minute of every round of every fight is important. More so to women, who sadly are still fighting to be seen as legitimate athletes.
